Scar Treatment

Scar Treatment

Healing of full-thickness or partial injuries on the skin after previous surgery or trauma occurs with scarring. Scar is a healing, it is the replacement of the defect area and loss of the skin during the healing process. Sometimes, excessively prominent mass scar formations such as hypertrophic scars or keloids can be seen due to impaired healing. In those with wound healing disorders, regions such as the shoulder, chest wall or ear constitute risky areas for this.
Scar maturation is completed in an average of 1 year. Being red when viewed and fading when pressed is a simple indication of immaturity. While special creams are recommended until maturation is completed, many treatment methods such as laser, prp, mesotherapy, peeling, radiotherapy, steroid applications or dermabrasion are used to reduce scars.
In general, it is not possible to completely get rid of the scar. What is done is to reduce the scar. As plastic surgery, we work to hide scars and reduce prominence.
