HAIR TRANSPLANT
Hair transplantation is the best way for people who have lost their hair as a result of genetic or subsequent disease and trauma to gain new hair permanently and to achieve a natural hair appearance. The most common cause of hair loss, which we call androgenetic alopecia, is due to hormonal reasons and our genetic predisposition. It is called male pattern hair loss. While shedding starts in the 20s, it continues to decrease until the end of the 50s.
Although hair loss concerns more than half of men over the age of 50, it can also be seen in women. As a general problem of hair loss, we may encounter hair loss in the eyebrows, mustache and beard areas, and restoration can be achieved with a more sensitive and careful planting.
Although hair transplantation started in the Far East in the 1930s, it became popular with the FUT technique in the 90s and reached its golden age with the FUE method in the 20s. Today, the FUE method is used.
In general, when planning hair transplantation in all hair loss, care is taken to ensure that there is no active inflammatory or infective disease on the scalp, so transplantation can be planned after the end of the treatment. After appropriate preparation, hair transplantation can be performed on scar tissues formed as a result of disease, burn or trauma.
The main method in hair transplantation is the FUE technique. It is the process of placing the grafts taken into the channels opened with diamond tips after the hair follicles are collected with a micromotor. Crusting occurs in 10-15 days. In 3-4 weeks, the separation of the transplanted hair from the roots is observed. In hair transplantation procedures managed by me, with appropriate procedures, crusting and separation of the hair from the root are less common. While the transplanted hair regrows from 3 months, it can be seen up to 1 year.
In our hospital, the number of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy units in Turkey is very successful and the number of transplanted hair follicles is quite high. In our unit, where other tissue and organ transplants and microsurgery operations are also performed, we successfully use our unit, which we use to rejuvenate the tissues that have lost their health, in hair transplantation and wound healing.
Hair transplantation is actually a tissue transplant procedure and the conditions in which the tissues can live must be well prepared and appropriate support must be given. Performing the procedure without knowing the tissue transplant procedures may result in serious hair loss. It should be kept in mind that the drugs used during transplantation will cause serious problems, including life-threatening risks, and serious problems such as hair and scalp loss, infection and necrosis may be encountered. It should not be overlooked that in hospital conditions, appropriate equipment and intensive care conditions are available, and if possible, it should be done under the management of a plastic surgeon. While hair transplantation is a treatment for a health problem, no one wants it to turn into bigger health problems.
Before the hair transplantation is planned, blood tests are performed to see if there is a problem that will cause you trouble, and you will be called on the day of October. In order to achieve a natural hair and maximum number of holdings, planning and drawing are provided for your comfort, if not, your breakfast is provided. If the conditions are suitable for transplantation after anesthesia and cleaning, the process begins with the collection of gerfts. Your HBO treatment is planned with the post-sowing interview and your washing is done by us after 2 days. Your follow-up and washing process are explained and your controls are planned.
As a result, after the center to be transplanted is considered to have the appropriate conditions, we recommend our patients to know a rest period of 3-4 days, a transplant period of 4-8 hours, and a waiting period of 12-18 months, when the results are fully seen. Appropriate hospital and plastic surgeon management, equipment and appropriate technique, HBO treatment and close follow-up can be summarized as the keys to success. Every hair is a living thing and it is our duty to try to keep it alive.
